Auburn Man Convicted of Assaulting Bar Employee

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced that, GREGORY JORDAN, 40, of Auburn, New York, was found guilty following a four day-long jury trial of one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Violent Felony.
The jury returned its guilty verdict after hearing testimony and reviewing evidence, including photographs and officer testimony. The jury concluded that on May 29, 2022, at approximately 2:20 in the morning, while at Swifty’s Bar, located at 45 Perrine Street, in the City of Auburn, JORDAN, intentionally caused physical injury to the victim with a dangerous instrument consisting of a knife. The testimony established that JORDAN sliced the victim in the neck causing a stab wound more than three inches in length. Members of the Auburn Police Department responded to Swifty’s within minutes and apprehended JORDAN.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Susan Azzarelli and Assistant District Attorney Britton H. Bouchard.
Jordan faces a maximum determinate term of seven years of imprisonment with three years of post-release supervision. He is scheduled to be sentenced before visiting judge, Honorable Barry L. Porsch, on July 31, 2023.
District Attorney Grome Antonacci commented, “We commend the members of the jury for the time and consideration they gave listening to and reviewing the evidence throughout the trial. We hope that this conviction and ultimate sentence will provide the victim and his family a sense of justice and closure.”
