Auburn, NY - Acting District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that HASSAN GLENN, 34, of Brooklyn, New York, pled guilty to one count of Burglary in the First Degree, in violation of Penal Law Section 140.30[1], a Class B Armed Violent Felony, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony arising out of a March 2, 2022 arrest.
As alleged in the indictment, defendant admitted to entering the victim’s enclosed porch in the Town of Mentz with a loaded 9 mm handgun. While inside, defendant stole a pair of snow pants and a crossbow. He subsequently fled from police. During a foot pursuit with officers from multiple agencies, defendant was observed throwing the handgun near the New York State Thruway. Police also recovered a quantity of methamphetamine during the pursuit of defendant.
GLENN faces an 8-year determinate term of incarceration, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. He is scheduled to be sentenced before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone on October 13, 2022.
