DA's Office Secures Conviction of Former ACF Inmate for Assault on C.O.

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that former Auburn Correctional Facility inmate TAJ WILLIAMS pled guilty in Cayuga County Court this morning to Assault in the Second Degree. On March 14, 2024, WILLIAMS punched a Correction Officer who was frisking WILLIAMS upon his admission to the special housing unit. The Correction Officer lost consciousness and was transported to Upstate Medical Center by ambulance and treated for a broken nose and other injuries.


WILLIAM will receive a sentence of five (5) years' determinate prison plus five (5) years' post-release supervision when he returns to Court on December 20, 2024. By law, this new sentence will run consecutively to his current sentence.
