DA’s Office Secures Convictions in Machete-Attack Attempted Murder Case

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that CHRISTOPHER LAFRAMBOISE pled guilty in Cayuga Court this morning to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree.  LAFRAMBOISE admitted that on February 6, 2023 he attacked a man with a machete in the Town of Victory.  LAFRAMBOISE swung the machete at the victim’s neck, causing a large laceration and a fractured jaw.  LAFRAMBOISE faces a sentence of 13 years in prison plus an additional 5 years’ post-release supervision when he returns to court on November 16, 2023.

In another case, former Cayuga Correctional Facility inmate DARRYL BRADSHAW was sentenced to 2-4 additional years in prison for his conviction of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree.  On October 16, 2022, BRADSHAW intentionally attempted to injure a Correction Officer when he attacked the C.O. and cut him in the neck with a contraband weapon.  The C.O. was among a team of officers who were extracting BRADSHAW from his cell.  BRADSHAW pled guilty to the charge on June 1, 2023 and his sentence will run consecutively to his current prison sentence.

 

In a third case, JAY GARRIGAN pled guilty at arraignment to Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree.  GARRIGAN admitted that on August 6, 2023, he possessed a stolen Jeep Cherokee in the Town of Aurelius.  After the vehicle was reported stolen, the New York State Police located the vehicle on West Genesee Street Road.  GARRIGAN, who was a passenger in the vehicle, admitted to the police that he traded drugs for the stolen vehicle.  Troopers recovered the vehicle owners’ Maltese-Yorkie mix dog in the vehicle, fortunately unharmed.
