Auburn, NY- District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that Charles WILLIAMS, 48, of Auburn, New York, pled guilty to two counts of Aggravated Family Offense, Class E felonies, and one count of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, stemming from two separate domestic violence investigations. Defendant pled on the eve of trial which was scheduled to start on February 18, 2025. WILLIAMS is scheduled for sentencing on April 29, 2025, to an indeterminate term of three to six years in prison.
The initial investigation revealed that WILLIAMS damaged property at his ex-girlfriend’s house by using a crowbar to enter the house, damaging her doorframe in the process. He was remanded to the County Jail as a result of that arrest. A subsequent investigation uncovered that the defendant violated an order of protection when he contacted the protected party while housed at the county jail in violation of a court order.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Auburn Police Department and the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Task Force. Senior ADA Heather De Stefano prosecuted both cases.
