Defendant Pleads Guilty to Assaulting a Cayuga County Sheriff’s Custody Officer

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that Sincere HARRISON, 24, of Auburn, New York, pled guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Violent Felony, in Cayuga County Court before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone.  As alleged in the indictment, HARRISON admitted that on October 24, 2023, while confined at Cayuga County Jail on pending charges, that he intentionally caused physical injury to a Sheriff’s custody officer when he punched him multiple times in the face.  The custody officer sustained a black eye, amount other injuries.

 

HARRISON faces a maximum prison sentence of 7 years to be followed by 3 years of post-release supervision on the assault charge. He also pled guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment and faces an aggregate seven-year determinate prison sentence, plus three years of post-release supervision on those additional charges. HARRISON is scheduled to be sentenced in January of 2024.
