Auburn, NY- District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that Michael PETERSON, 42, (DOB 3/19/1981), of Weedsport, New York, pled guilty in Cayuga County Court before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone yesterday, to one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class A-II Felony, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor. The plea took place prior to a jury trial commencing. PETERSON is scheduled to be sentenced on November 9, 2023 and faces a mandatory sentence of fourteen years to life in prison.
As set forth in the indictment, PETERSON admitted to sexually assaulting a female child, under the age of thirteen, for approximately six years.
