Former Auburn Inmate Sentenced After Assault Trial




District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced WINDSOR COLEMAN, 35, of Massapequa, New York, was convicted in July following a jury trial of two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Class D Violent Felonies, for the assaults of two on-duty correction officers at the Auburn Correctional Facility. COLEMAN refused to appear at his jury trial and was sentenced in absentia.


COLEMAN was sentenced on December 20, 2024, before the Honorable Jon E. Budelmann to the maximum sentence of a seven-year determinate term of imprisonment followed by five years of post-release supervision on each charge of Assault in the Second Degree, to run consecutively, for an aggregate prison sentence of 14 years determinate followed by five years of post-release supervision.


This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Amanda Raub and Special Counsel to the District Attorney Mark Moody.
