Auburn, NY - Acting District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that CAITLYN JACOBS, 31, of the City of Auburn, was indicted by a Grand Jury for the possession of a loaded handgun following reports of a shots fired incident in the area of Genesee Street in the City of Auburn.
A Cayuga County Grand Jury returned an indictment alleging (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony. JACOBS faces a determine term of imprisonment of 15 years, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision if convicted after trial.
The indictment alleges that on February 18, 2022 at approximately 1 p.m., JACOBS knowingly and unlawfully possessed a loaded and operable firearm consisting of a 9mm revolver.
JACOBS will be scheduled for arraignment before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone in Cayuga County Court. A date is yet to be determined.
All charged individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty
