Auburn, NY- District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that KENNETH BYRD, 31, of Auburn, New York pled guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Violent Felony, in Cayuga County Court before the Honorable Jon E. Budelmann.
The one count Superior Court Information alleges that on July 1, 2023, BYRD, with intent to cause physical injury to the victim, caused such injury by means of slashing him with a knife. The victim sustained multiple slash wounds to his abdomen and arms.
BYRD is scheduled to be sentenced on October 24, 2023. He faces a determinate term of imprisonment of 3.5 years followed by 3 years of post-release supervision.
The investigation was handled by members of the Auburn Police Department.
The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci.
