Guilty Plea in Town of Conquest Home Invasion

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that MICHAEL LATOUR, 23, of Elmira, New York pled guilty to one count of Burglary in the First Degree, a Class B Armed Violent Felony, in Cayuga County Court before the Honorable Jon E. Budelmann.


The indictment alleges that on November 28, 2022, LATOUR knowingly entered unlawfully in a dwelling located in the Town of Conquest with the intent to commit the crime of larceny therein and when effecting entry or while inside of the dwelling, he displayed what appeared to be a firearm to the victims.


LATOUR is scheduled to be sentenced on October 3, 2023. He faces a determinate term of imprisonment of 10 years followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.


Two co-defendants, Jonathan WELLINGTON, 28, and Kyler LOVE, 32, both of Auburn, New York, also pled guilty back in May of this year to one count of Hindering Prosecution in the Second Degree, a Class E Felony, for their role in the burglary. The indictment alleges that they each rendered criminal assistance to LATOUR following the burglary. Each defendant faces a maximum indeterminate sentence of 1 1/3 to 4 years of imprisonment.


The investigation was handled by members of the New York State Police with assistance from the Auburn Police Department.
