Seneca Falls Man Indicted for Killing Woman’s Companion Animal in Springport

Auburn, NY- District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that BRANDON CARLSON, 39, of Seneca Falls, was indicted by a Cayuga County Grand Jury on one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and one count of Tampering With Physical Evidence, both Class E Felonies, for actions that occurred on November 28, 2023. The indictment alleges that CARLSON physically beat a dog, causing the dog to sustain head trauma which resulted in its death, and subsequently moved the body of the deceased dog to the roadway to conceal the cause of death and give the appearance that the dog was killed by being struck by a vehicle.

CARLSON faces a maximum prison sentence of 1 1/3-4 years if convicted.  He appears before the Hon Jon E Budelmann on November 6, 2024.
